Goats Seeking New Pastures
Thank you for your interest in J3 Farm goats. We are a performance herd that participates in show, DHIA, and linear appraisal for our standards. Our hope is to find homes that will provide secure fencing, safe shelter, and appropriate diet. We look for lifelong commitments to animals that leave J3. We understand life can change, but buyers are responsible to make sure animals have a good home if they can no longer care for animal. We do not sell single kids unless you have goats already. Goats are social and need other goat friends. We are happy to mentor new owners. In fact we enjoy making friendships with other goat owners. We plan to have kids available (pet and show quality) in the spring as well as milkers. We prefer milkers that are 2 years of age or older to leave in groups of 2 or more as this is much easier for goats to transition into newer homes with a friend. This is flexible depending on personality of goat, but in our experience the transition goes much smoother with a friend.

HERD TESTING
We test everyone over 8 months annually for CAE/CL/Johnes and have been 100% negative. We also test some of our herd annually for Q Fever and Brucellosis. Always negative. We do not have TB in our area. Last tests done 1/2024. Tests will be done again before kidding starts...likely in December or January.

J3 KID CARE
Kids are disbudded before one week of age, up to date on CDT vaccine and hoof trims. Some kids may get a pneumonia vaccine depending on time of year. We wether bucklings at 12 weeks of age. Fecals and/or preventative worming will be done at time of sale as moving to a new home is stressful and can cause a parasite bloom. We co raise kids with their dams. This means kids stay with dams, but are trained to a bottle/lamb bar. We handle kids often, and we have found raising them this way makes most of them social. We do also pull some kids to be bottle babies for various reasons. Kids are provided free choice hay, free choice loose minearls, and are fed a pelleted feed for coccidia prevention.

WAITLIST INSTRUCTIONS AND SALES POLICIES
Please send us a message to be added to our free waiting list. Please provide your name, pairing, or general want (i.e. 2 friendly wethers). Please also include the best way to contact you. We will reach out to people on our wait list after kids are born. At that time, buyers can choose to move forward and reserve their kids with a $100 deposit and a scheduled pick up date. We take Venmo, Paypal, and cash for deposits. If deposit is not received within 24 hours of verbal agreement, we will move to the next name on the wait list. Kids will be ready at 12 weeks of age or as bottle babies if buyer is able to provide proof of knowledge or mentorship for caring for bottle babies. 1 gallon of milk will come with each kid leaving as a bottle baby. Additional milk can be purchased at $10/gallon. We do provide discounts for multiples or for bottle babies picked up by 4 weeks of age. ***Transport fees, including CVIs, are 100% responsibility of buyer. We will work with reputable transporters, but prefer buyers coming to the farm if possible. Animals will come with a small amount of transition feed. We do retain the right to retain any kid born at J3. We work to be transparent with buyers. Sometimes as kids grow we may decided to keep them as part of our breeding program. If we are unable to fulfill buyer's reservation, deposit will be fully refunded or held over to next year if buyer desires.
***CVI costs have gone up significantly with our vet. CVIs are now $235 for up to 6 goats. This cost can potentially be divided amongst multiple buyers if timing works out. CVIs are good for 30 days.
